Why I’m Looking
After 28 years of building engineering software for Dutch and Scandinavian companies, I’m looking for something different - not a change of profession, but a change of environment.
I’ve spent my entire career at Matrix Software (StruSoft Group), where I grew from a junior C++ developer into a system architect and team lead. I’ve designed calculation engines used by thousands of structural engineers across Europe, built frameworks that have been running in production for over three decades, and most recently led the architecture of a cloud-native engineering platform from the ground up. I’m proud of that work.
But I’ve reached a point where I want my experience to serve a different purpose.
What I’m Looking For
I want to join a Lithuanian company - ideally a startup or a team with a startup mindset. After years of working within the measured pace of Western European corporate culture, I’m drawn to the energy, ambition, and directness I see in Lithuanian tech teams. I’ve watched Lithuania’s tech ecosystem grow into something remarkable, and I want to be part of building it - not as an observer, but as someone who brings deep technical foundation and ships real products.
I’m not looking for a title upgrade or a comfortable seat. I’m looking for a place where architecture decisions matter on day one, where the team moves fast because they genuinely care, and where my 28 years of hard-won lessons in system design, performance, and maintainability can make an immediate impact.
What I Bring
- Deep systems expertise. C/C++ at the core, with full-stack reach into React.js, PHP, Node.js, and TypeScript. I don’t just write code - I design systems that last decades.
- Legacy-to-modern migration experience. I’ve personally led the transformation of a 30+ year desktop C++ codebase into a modern cloud-native product - React on the frontend, C++ calculation engines running as server-side PHP extensions. Few engineers have done this at this scale.
- Startup-compatible pragmatism. Despite the corporate setting, I’ve always operated as a builder - owning architecture end to end, making trade-offs between speed and quality, and mentoring others along the way.
- Domain versatility. While my background is in construction/engineering software, the skills - high-performance computing, API design, cloud-native architecture, real-time systems - transfer directly to fintech, healthtech, deeptech, or any product that needs serious engineering under the hood.
Why Lithuania, Why Now
I was born here. I studied here. And while I’ve built software that serves engineers across Europe, I’ve always done it for companies headquartered elsewhere. I’d like to change that. Lithuania has the talent, the ambition, and the market access to build world-class products - and I want to contribute to that with everything I’ve learned.
I’m open to conversations about architecture, team-building, or simply how my experience might fit your roadmap. I’d welcome the chance to talk.
