Why I’m making this move

After 28 years of building engineering software for Dutch and Scandinavian companies, I’ve reached a point where I want my experience to serve a different purpose - not a change of profession, but a change of environment and mission. What I want next is deliberately rooted in Lithuania: to help build products whose company home, ownership, and story are here - not only a workstation in Vilnius serving a foreign headquarters.

I’ve spent my entire career at Matrix Software (StruSoft Group), where I grew from a junior C++ developer into a system architect and, more recently, into a Tech Lead / Engineering Manager role. I’ve designed calculation engines used daily by thousands of structural engineers across Europe, built frameworks that have been running in production for over three decades, and led the architecture of a cloud-native engineering platform from the ground up. I’m proud of that work - and exactly because of it, I feel ready for the next chapter.

What I’m Looking For

I’m looking first and foremost for a Lithuanian company - ideally a startup, or a team inside a larger company that still operates with startup DNA. Vilnius is a real European tech city now; I want to join teams that use it as a base to ship globally competitive products, with engineering and product leadership close to where the software is built.

I get my energy from owning the product end-to-end - how it behaves for the user, how it holds up in production over the years, and how the pieces fit together technically. I’m also motivated when that work helps Lithuania show up stronger internationally in areas like tech, finance, or security - good outcomes for the product and for the place it comes from.

I’m not looking for a title upgrade or a comfortable seat. I’m open to Staff Engineer, Architect, Tech Lead, or Founding Engineer type roles - whatever fits where I can make the biggest impact. I’m equally happy joining an established team that needs a steady technical backbone, or stepping into something at an early stage where the architecture still has to be drawn.

What I Bring

Why Lithuania

I was born here, studied here, and I’ve watched Lithuania’s tech scene grow from outsourcing support into a place that builds serious product companies. For years my work has served users across Europe while the brand and the balance sheet sat abroad. I’d like the systems I design to strengthen Lithuanian product companies - high-skill jobs, taxes, and recognition that say clearly: this was built here.

Lithuania has the talent, EU market access, and the ambition to put globally relevant names on the map. I want to put everything I’ve learned in 28 years toward that story - not as a spectator, but as someone who ships.

There’s no rush on my side. My goal isn’t to change my job - it’s to find a genuinely mutual fit. I’m open to a conversation today, or a year from now, whenever you see a place where my experience could matter.

Best regards,
